"Scheurer Kestner Monument" is made out of stone, and was commissioned to Aime Jules Dalou in 1899. Around the obelisk two statues. Located on the right side of the monument a woman allegory depicts Truth, hence the naked woman with nothing to hide. "Scheurer Kestner Monument" was created in honor of Jeanne Scheurer-Kestner, a prominent activist and politician in late 19th century France.

Aimé-Jules Dalou (1838-1902) was a 19th-century French sculptor, admired for his perceptiveness, execution, and unpretentious realism. In 1854, he attended the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris in the François-Joseph Duret classroom. He combined the vivacity and richness of Carpeaux.
