"Diane chasseresse", sculpted by Auguste Levêque, depicts the Roman goddess of the hunt in her traditional form, armed with bow and arrow. Levêque's masterful craftsmanship captures the grace and strength of this mythical figure. At the time of its unveiling, the statue was well received by the public, with many praising its lifelike qualities. The depiction of Diana as a hunter was a popular theme in classical art, symbolizing the power of nature and the balance between wildness and civilization. Levêque's representation of the goddess adds a touch of sensuality with her flowing hair and the curves of her body, making it a captivating work of art.
